In 1953 the Roundhead Community Fire Department was founded in the small village of Roundhead, Ohio as part of the Ohio Civil Defense Corp. We started out with 2 fire trucks: a 1954 Ford pumper and a 1954 REO tanker which held 3000 gallons of water. A few years later, the township of Roundhead took over control of the department.
After more than 50 years of serving our community we are still serving and very active. A crew of well trained firefighters protect 40 square miles in Roundhead and part of McDonald townships in rural Hardin County, Ohio. Both are in a rural area where farming is the major industry.
We are located on Main street in Roundhead at the intersection of State Route's 117 and 235. Department meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm.
We are Station 10 in Hardin County. We are a member of the Hardin County Firefighters Association and the Northwest Ohio Volunteeer Firemens Association.
Volunteers are always welcome. If interested, please contact any current member or come to a department meeting. Initial training is provided at no cost. A printable application is available by hitting the "application" link below.
